CNC Precision Machining

Multi-Axis CNC Precision Routing & Milling

Our Slacks Creek workshop features advanced multi-axis CNC routing systems designed to process long-length structural aluminium profiles. Sourced from structural grade alloy, our machinery cuts, drills, taps, countersinks, and profiles architectural frames and industrial T-slot profiles to high dimensional tolerances.

Strict Machining Tolerances & Custom Toolpaths

Standard fabrication using hand-tools leads to mistakes and poor joint fits. Our automated CNC machines run code directly compiled from site 3D CAD files, holding dimensional tolerances within ± 0.1 mm. This precision ensures that interlocking roof panels, window sashes, and T-slot corner connections assemble smoothly on site without grinding or adjustments.

"By machining all screw holes, water drainage slots, and joint notches in a single automated setup, we eliminate indexing errors and preserve structural profile integrity."

CNC Machining Facility Specifications

  • Spindle Travel Capacity: Processes profiles up to 7.5 meters in length without repositioning.
  • Machining Axis Configuration: 3-axis and 4-axis rotating routing spindles.
  • Machining Operations: Profile face-milling, tapping (M3 to M16), drill patterns, and compound miter cuts.
  • QC Verification: Finished parts are inspected using digital gauges and recorded in our quality control records before delivery.

Our Services

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of aluminium profiles can be machined?

We machine all extruded profiles, T-slot series, flat panels, solid bars, and heavy structural hollow sections in-house.

Do you provide custom tap threads?

Yes, our multi-axis CNC machines perform tapping from M3 up to M16 threads, as well as countersinking and helical bore paths.

What quality checks are done after CNC routing?

We check critical dimension tolerances using calibrated vernier calipers and digital height gauges, recording all measurements.

Standard Operating Protocols & Accuracy Validation

TS Aluminium follows standard operating protocols across all design, extrusion, and machining services to maintain tolerances. For on-site spatial measurement, our Faro 3D laser scanners collect spatial coordinates to map site features within a sub-millimeter margin of error. The spatial scan is registered into a single coordinate system, which is then imported into AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design structural joints that fit site conditions exactly.

For custom die mould manufacturing, we use melt flow simulations (Finite Element Analysis) to evaluate polymer/metal flow rates under extrusion pressures (up to 2,200 tons). This simulation prevents die deformation and ensures wall thicknesses comply with the allowable limits defined in AS/NZS 1866. For multi-axis CNC routing, tool paths are generated using CAD/CAM systems that set spindle speeds and feed rates (e.g., 18,000 RPM spindle speed with a feed rate of 3.2 m/min for 6061-T6 profile machining).

Our installation teams follow concrete anchoring protocols. Chemical anchoring epoxies require a full 24-hour cure duration at 25° C before structural loads are applied. Once installed, sliding sashes, EPDM seals, and latch hardware are adjusted using digital gauges to verify smooth operation and watertight seals, ensuring long-term durability.
