Automated Double-Mitre Saws & CNC Processing Lines
TS Aluminium utilizes computerized profile cutting systems and long-travel milling stations in our Slacks Creek facility. Extruded profiles are processed using dual-head carbide saw blades linked to digital measurement controls, ensuring perfect angles and clean cuts.
Mitre Angle Calibrations & Spindle Cooling
For structural systems like sunroom post joints and interlocking patio frames, miter cuts must match exactly. Our double-mitre saws miter cut profiles from 45° to 90° with angle calibrations holding within ± 0.1°. Spindles use micro-mist spray cooling systems to prevent heat buildup, protecting the alloy's temper.
"By running toolpaths compiled from 3D CAD files, we mill complex lock cylinders, drainage slots, and connection notches in a single setup, eliminating hand-drilling mistakes."

Frequently Asked Questions
What angles can your double-mitre saws cut?
Our automated saws cut angles from 45 degrees inward to 45 degrees outward, maintaining tolerances within +/- 0.2 degrees.
How is cooling handled during CNC milling?
We use micro-mist ethanol or oil-soluble coolant spray nozzles to cool the cutting tools, ensuring clean cuts and long tool life.
What profile shapes can be cut?
We cut hollow squares, structural T-slot sections, architectural mullions, glazing sashes, and solid flat bars.

Facility Operations & Pre-Treatment Standards
The Slacks Creek workshop operates under strict quality management controls. Our pre-treatment chemical washing line utilizes five consecutive baths to prepare profile surfaces before painting. First, profiles undergo acid degreasing to clean the metal, followed by two water rinses. Next, profiles pass through a chromate-free conversion bath that establishes a paint-bonding surface, followed by a final demineralized water rinse.
Chemical concentrations and pH levels inside our pre-treatment tanks are verified daily by our lab technicians. For powder coating, electrostatic spray systems apply a dry film thickness (DFT) target of 60 to 80 microns. Profiles then pass through curing ovens at 200°C for 15 minutes. High-speed temperature sensors monitor the heating profile, verifying the thermal exposure needed to guarantee polymer cross-linking.
All profile storage, bundle packing, and delivery logistics are tracked in our inventory system. Cantilever racks store raw and finished extrusions in structured rows to prevent transport scratches. Every bundle of finished profiles is labeled with its original melt audit and coating batch records, ensuring complete quality traceability.
