Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What aluminium alloys do you use for structural building systems?

We utilize structural grade 6061-T6 alloy for primary posts, rafters, and heavily loaded columns because of its high yield strength. For architectural elements such as adjustable louvers, window sashes, and pool fencing, we use 6063-T6 alloy, which offers excellent surface finish capabilities and corrosion resistance. For industrial T-slot structures, we stock clear-anodized 6005-T5 alloy profiles to ensure stiffness.

Q2: Are your patio and carport kits rated for Queensland wind codes?

Yes. All our outdoor roof assemblies, patios, carports, and enclosed sunrooms are designed and calculated to satisfy AS/NZS 1170.2 Region B wind load standards. This means they are structurally rated for N3/N4 residential suburban and coastal wind uplift pressures (50–60 m/s design wind speeds). We issue structural compliance packages with our quote documentation for council approvals.

Q3: What pre-treatment and powder coating standards do you satisfy?

All electrostatic powder coating processed inside our Slacks Creek workshop satisfies AS 3715 (Metal Finishing - Architectural Powder Coatings). We pre-treat profiles using an acid-etch wash and chromate-free conversion bath to ensure paint adhesion, followed by curing ovens at 200°C. We check Dry Film Thickness (DFT) to verify it registers between 60 and 80 microns.

Q4: Can you design and extrude custom proprietary profiles?

Yes. We offer complete OEM services. We design custom extrusion dies, run melt flow simulations to prevent extrusion defects, and extrude bespoke profiles in our press line. Extrusion dimensions conform to structural tolerances outlined in AS/NZS 1866. Die tooling cost estimates are amortized against production volumes.

Q5: What is your standard warranty on building systems?

We provide a 10-Year Structural Warranty on all physical aluminium frames, posts, and beams processed and installed by our teams. Our EPDM weather seals carry a 5-year warranty, Somfy louver motors carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty, and Class 2/AA25 marine-grade surface finishes carry up to a 15-year warranty against fading and chalking under salt spray environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the quality of our Faq system verified?

All our Faq components undergo strict Vickers hardness indentation testing and dimensional tolerance checks in compliance with AS/NZS 1866:1997 standards.

What warranties apply to our Faq range?

We provide a 10-year structural warranty on all architectural profiles in the Faq range, backed by Dulux accredited powder coat finishes.

Are CAD drawings available for Faq?

Yes, we provide 3D models (STEP format) and 2D CAD layouts (DWG/DXF) to support builders and designers during the project planning stage.

GST Tax Invoices are issued with all wholesale and retail orders, and payments must satisfy the conditions outlined in our terms of service.

Our warranty coverage is subject to conditions. The 10-year structural warranty is valid for profiles installed by our teams or assembled in strict compliance with our engineering calculations. Any structural modifications or field changes made without CAD design sign-off will void the warranty. We are not liable for installation failures caused by out-of-plumb building slabs or inadequate structural support.
